Herbed Rice with Fried Fish on Eid Night
The name “Herbed Rice with Fish” is synonymous with the atmosphere and vibe of Eid night! While we may eat herbed rice with fish many times throughout the year, whenever its name is mentioned, we are reminded of Eid night and transported back to our childhood with the aroma of fried fish and the fragrance of herbs and garlic. Let’s prepare a special herbed rice with fish together, just like our grandmothers used to make, without an oven:
Recipe for Herbed Rice for 4 people:
Ingredients for Herbed Rice:
Three cups of rice
One cup of dried herbs for pilaf
Fresh garlic, for taste
Saffron
Ingredients for Fried Fish:
Four pieces of fish
Salt
Turmeric or a mixture of flour and turmeric
Wash the rice until the water runs clear. Add the dried herbs and fresh garlic on top of the rice. Add saffron and let the rice cook thoroughly until its aroma fills the house!
Season the fish with salt and let it sit for half an hour. Then, pat the fish dry with a towel and coat them with turmeric or the mixture of flour and turmeric. Now, fry the fish in hot oil until golden brown.
Our delicious herbed rice with fish is ready. Enjoy your meal and savor the aroma of Eid that fills the house!
