Description
Zaban pastry is a type of dry pastry made from a dough called puff pastry. This dough is rolled out many times with a rolling pin, butter is spread between its layers, and each time it is folded over again. Making this dough is a long process that requires the patience of Job! Once the dough is ready, it is cut with a mold, syrup and saffron are brushed on top, and it is baked. With these qualities, Zaban pastry is one of our main sweets for serving guests and for use at celebrations and ceremonies. Because it does not contain cream or custard, it has a long shelf life, and when we want to keep a pastry for a longer time, or when our pastry consumption is low and it takes us a hundred and twenty years to finish half a kilo of sweets, Zaban pastry is a very good choice.
